Smash
Smash is an American musical play tv show developed by Robert Greenblatt to get NBC and created by playwright Theresa Rebeck. Steven Spielberg functioned among the executive manufacturers. The show was broadcast in the US by NBC and created by Universal Television and DreamWorks Television. The show revolves around the creation of a new Broadway musical and a fictional New York theatre community. It features a large ensemble cast, directed Christian Borle, Jack Davenport, Katharine McPhee, by Debra Messing, Megan Hilty, Jeremy Jordan, and Anjelica Huston.
The show debuted on February 6, 2012, and also its first season ended on May 14, 2012. Its second and last season stopped May 26, 2013 and premiered on February 5, 2013. NBC announced a reversal in March 2013 in their lineup and transferred the show into Saturdays starting. The show was cancelled on May 10, 2013. Secondly and last season executive producer/show runner Josh Safran stated the last episode of season two would work as a series finale, should the string not be renewed.
The show the pilot episode, enjoyed a few success that was critical. The first season received the Primetime Emmy Award amongst 4 nominations for Outstanding Choreography. The series was nominated for also a Grammy Award for Best Song and a Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series -- Musical or Comedy.
